Shipping Protection
We recommend adding shipping protection to your order. Shipped orders do not include protection by default. Without shipping protection,
What Shipping Protection Covers:
- Lost packages when the order is in transit and being handled by the carrier
- Delivery to the incorrect address, where items cannot be recovered by the carrier or by the receiver
- Damage that renders the items unusable
- Orders that arrive intact with missing items
What Shipping Protection Does Not Cover:
- Theft after the package has been marked as delivered with delivery proof
- Loss of untracked lettermail shipments (it still covers damage)
- Minor wear and tear that does not affect the items performance or functionality
- Extended delays where the order is eventually delivered
How Shipping Protection Works:
Contact us for delayed orders. If the item has no tracking updates after some time, we will reach out to the carrier. Their investigation typically takes between 3-7 business days. If the investigation determines the order is lost, Shipping Protection will be applied as a store credit or refund.
Canada Shipping
Canada Single Disc Bubble Mailer
Single disc bubble mailers sent using untracked lettermail are customer risk and do not include any coverage for lost or delayed shipments. We do not provide any coverage for lost or delayed orders sent by this method. This shipping method is not tracked and does not include insurance. We highly recommend upgrading to any tracked shipping method for discs that are irreplaceable. Note that physical damage including scuffs and scrapes may occur as in order to meet the thickness requirement of lettermail, we cannot include cardboard which would make the package too thick/heavy.
We do have a 99.9% success rate with this method, and typically it takes less than 10 business days coast to coast, but again, if you're not willing to lose it, don't send it this method. Some discs we may not allow this method because we could not reasonably or realistically replace them (or they are too thick).
In some cases we may request that a customer pays for a tracked shipping upgrade. If the upgrade is not paid the customer will receive a refund in full.
Lost Orders Sent by Bubble Mailer: Since this shipping method is buyer risk, we do not provide any coverage for lost orders. Shipping protection only covers damage. If your order has not arrived after 30 days, please reach out to us and let us know.
Standard Economy Shipping
- Based on the weight and size of your order.
- By far the cheapest method for medium size orders.
- Sent by low speed ground shipping services that provide tracking updates only at major hubs and upon delivery.
Apartment buildings without a concierge please choose Canada Post as your shipping method. We highly advise shipping Canada Post Expedited to apartment buildings as Canada Post can put the parcel directly into your building's parcel lockers. This prevents any fuss with having to find and pick up from a local business.
Shipping Changes: We may change shipping carriers at no extra charge to you in order to choose the best shipping option for your address.

- Free Shipping is sent by consolidated shipping option from a variety of carriers. The tracking may take 2 - 4 business days to update after the tracking number is sent.

Rural Surcharges will apply to Free Shipping
Some of our Free Shipping is sent by consolidation - this means that orders are piled together with other customers then delivered directly to a courier hub in a city near you using a national 3rd party carrier. This allows us to cut down the cost of most Canada Post shipments to some major urban areas and offer flat-rate shipping to all customers as shipments are "zone skipped" into your local area on a pallet with a freight carrier.
However the consolidation process relies on order volume. Occasionally there can be a delay of 2-3 days before consolidated shipping scans with our partner carriers. Consolidated shipments are carried by a 3rd party company for the majority of travel and often do not show tracking information with the carrier directly until they are in your local area, typically around 7 days after ordering. At that point they take 1 - 3 days to deliver.
Canada Express Shipping Options
If available, express shipping options from various couriers will be presented at check out. Canada Post XpressPost is available but it is also very expensive. We recommend reaching out for an express shipping quote if no courier options are presented, as we may be able to provide a cheaper method via UPS, Purolator or other couriers who do not cost calculate.

We reserve the right to choose the best shipping method for your location, regardless of the option you have chosen at check out.
Returned Canadian Shipments
- If we receive the shipment returned to us due to buyer error, for example refused delivery or wrong address, we are charged a “return shipping fee” by the carrier. If the buyer wants their shipment resent, we charge both the return shipping fee plus the fee for the new shipment.
- If the buyer asks for a refund, we will deduct the full original shipping fee we paid to the carrier (even if the buyer selected free shipping), the return shipping fee and a 5% processing charge.
- If the shipment is returned due to our error, we will not charge any fees to resend or refund.
US Shipping
US Economy Shipping
Rare Discs is located in Canada. In order to save on shipping and time, we drop off our US bound shipments directly with US shipping carriers. This typically occurs three days a week.
- All international orders shipped by Rare Discs are sent DDU - deliver duties unpaid unless otherwise specified. This means the buyer is responsible for paying any import tariffs and customs brokerage that may apply. If the buyer rejects an order and it is not returned to us, we will not offer any refund. If the order is returned to us, any refund offered will be less the shipping fee and return fee.
- USPS tracking generally takes 1-3 business days to update. It is normal for the tracking to show “received by USPS” for a couple days as our US shipments are driven across the border by our partner carrier to USPS and has to go through customs before USPS sees the package. This extra time is included in our delivery estimates.
- Single discs are sent in bubble mailers unless the box option is chosen. It is incredibly rare for bubble mailers to be damaged in transit. Please choose the box option at check out if you'd prefer your order to be boxed.
- All Priority Shipping Estimates are provided on a “best guess” basis and not guaranteed. We may choose UPS as an option for priority shipping if it is within our delivery timeline, as it crosses the border immediately and does not have the 2 - 4 day customs lag that USPS parcels have.
US Returns
- If the item is returned due to a change of mind or buyers mistake (for example, invalid address or refused shipment), we are charged a return customs fee of USD $5. The buyer will be required to pay the customs fee and a new shipping charge in order to resend the order.
- If the item is returned due to our mistake, no fees are charged.
- Buyers may opt for a refund on returned shipments, less the $5 fee and the original shipping we paid to the carrier.
Global Shipping
Rare Discs has one of the cheapest shipping rates of all disc golf shops to global locations like Norway, Sweden and Europe! We recently expanded to include New Zealand and Australia. We offer two tiers of shipment, consolidation shipping (cheapest; 3-5 weeks delivery time) and UPS international (expensive; 3-7 days delivery time).
Single disc rates start at CAD $12 for consolidation shipping.
- VAT, Customs and Import charges are NOT included with our global shipping. Please familiarize yourself with these charges as we are not responsible for any import fees, nor will we refund any global buyer due to refused shipment.
- We do not provide any refund whatsoever if the shipment is rejected or refused or returned to us due to buyers mistake. Rejected shipments are not returned to us, instead they are destroyed by the carrier.
- There are two options for global shipping: slow and cheap, or fast and expensive. For our slow shipping we use a variety of international carriers with a variety of quality of tracking information. Most tracking may only update once per week. Typical shipment times is 3 - 4 weeks, but it may be longer.
- Global shipping times out after 60 days. If you have not received your item in 60 days please reach out and we’ll be happy to help.
Global shipments are sent with shipping insurance. If there has been no scan for 2-3 weeks please reach out to us. Do note that the investigation process is incredibly slow, and often the carrier only considers the package lost if it has had no scan for 60 days. The carrier also is not responsible for any delays due to customs processing time.
Customs Delays
Do note due to the random nature of customs import procedure, all shipments can be severely delayed at random. We will do our best to keep you updated but once an item has left our warehouse sometimes it will not scan with tracking for a week or two. Please rest assured that all items are in transit.
Shipping Guarantee
We guarantee that any tracked shipment will have a "delivery attempt" scan within the following timeline:
Canada (Provinces) and USA (Lower 48)
24 Business Days (1 month from shipping date)
All Other Countries and Territories
48 Business Days (2 months from shipping date)
If your tracked shipment does not have a delivery attempt scan within this timeline, please reach out to us and we'll be happy to refund the shipping cost paid to us and launch an investigation. This guarantee does not cover the cost of the items unless shipping protection is purchased.
